Privacy policy
Last updated April 18, 2026.
Short version: we see the photos you send us, use them to identify ingredients, and give you meal ideas. We don't sell your data, we don't spam you, and we delete the raw photos after 30 days.
What we collect
- Your phone number — we have to, that's how SMS works.
- The photos you text us — used for ingredient identification, then deleted within 30 days.
- The messages you text us — including your allergies, diet preferences, and any follow-up requests. Stored so we can give you consistent replies and improve the service.
- The replies we send you — stored for the same reason.
- Basic usage metrics (how many messages, when, latency) so we know the service is working.
What we do with it
- Run your photo through a vision AI to extract an ingredient list.
- Send that list to a language model to generate three meal ideas that respect your dietary preferences.
- Text those ideas back to you.
- Keep a short conversation history so we can answer follow-ups ("option 2 please") with context.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data.
- We don't share your photos or messages with third parties for advertising.
- We don't text you first unless you explicitly opt in (which you can't yet — we haven't built that).
- We don't try to link your phone number to any other identity.
Third parties in the loop
Your messages pass through Twilio (to deliver SMS/MMS) and Anthropic's Claude API (for vision + meal suggestions). Both have their own privacy policies. We don't pay them to use your data for training or anything like that.
Data retention
- Raw photos: deleted from our server within 30 days.
- Ingredient lists, message text, preferences: retained while your account is active.
- Deletion on request: text us "delete my data" and we'll nuke your record within a few days. (Or email, see below.)
Kids
If you're under 13, please don't use this. It's a meal-suggestion service; it's not designed for kids.
